Mens Retreat Twin Peaks CA

This past weekend I went on an awesome Mens Retreat with my church at Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Twin Peaks.
The center was really nice and well maintained which made the experience even greater. We spent two whole days there and got to fellowship and hear from God's word. God changed a lot of guys at this retreat and I got some really good fellowship and was able to meet and get to know more guys from church.

This is me and Lee Bud in the dining room on the first evening.

Jason in the dining room, which used to be a fancy dining lodge for the rich and famous in the 60's. The church bought it in the seventies.

Jason and Lee in the morning in our room. We roomed with Jose also. We nicknamed Lee "Darth Maul"
and Jose "Smegal" form Lord of the Rings because of their unique snoring noises.

Lee and Ed outside the conference room after the first meeting.

We had some free time on Saturday so we went to the Lake Arrowhead village, there was a bunch of us there.

Casey K walking up the steps in front of Lee Roys.

Jason jumped the rails for this awesome boogie board.

Our new friend Esteban aka EsteLeche and Jason on the scenic village walkway.

RIP Bobby Fischer

Bobby Fischer, iconic and elusive, was one of histories greatest chess players. He disappeared for two decades after defeating Russian player Spassky: a match that violated US sanctions at the time and caused Fischer to flee to Iceland. He resurfaced 20 years later and in 1992 defeated Spassky again in a rematch that won him $3.5 million. In 2005 he was captured at a Japan airport and was held for nine months before Iceland accepted him as a resident as he renounced his US citizenship. He showed great interest to his friends in Iceland that he wished to play a final tournament before he died, which he was unable to do before he passed away from kidney failure in Iceland on Thursday. He was 64.

2007 Photo a Day

2007 is over and so is my photo a day challenge with my friend Aaron. I made a good go at it, but it did get tougher and tougher as the year went by. Out of the 365 days in the year I took a photo a day 332 of those days. The challenge was to take a photo of yourself every 24 hours and there must be a unique object touching your head or neck in the photo. We uploaded our photos onto the popular photo hosting site Flickr and I'm going to share the top five most viewed photos by Flickr memebers from both of us. If you would like to check out the entire set visit our Flickr page here.

Here are Aarons Top Five most viewed Pics.

Lakai Fully Flared Premiere

Last Night was the premiere for Lakai at the UCLA Royce Hall. There were a lot of people there, not sure how many, but definitly more than the Skate More premiere. All I have to say without spoiling anything is the intro is awesome and everyones parts are good. My favorite part hands down was Mike Mo with Guys part in Second place. Great Video.

I got to see Aaron and we went to Fat Burger somewhere in LA. I had never had one but it was good. I woke up this morning with fat burger seeping from my pores though, I had to immediately get in the shower and brush my teeth.

Friday

Friday Mornings I go to Starbucks and meet Chris, Jesse, and Jason and we have been going over one chapter of Romans. It's the earliest I get up all week but it's really fun and seeing the sunrise is cool.

After work Sarah and I went to the B.A.R.F (Bring a Real Friend) night at church for the Jr. Highers. It's an event when the kids that nirmally come invite a friend that doesnt know God. We all hang out play games ( I played touch football-winded) , eat burgers and dogs, and then Chris pressents the Gospel to everyone. It was good night.

This is about everyone a few groups are cut out.

Whats New

We had our 1 Year Anniveersary on the 19th and went to Disneyland for a few days. It was kind of crowded but we had a good time.

We must have caught some germs at the happiest place on earth because we both ended up sick the whole week after we got home.

The dat before I got really sick though I worked on creating a office for myself.
Here is a few shots of the work in progress. The progress is mostly removing all the junk and clutter that was in this room.
