RIP Bobby Fischer

Bobby Fischer, iconic and elusive, was one of histories greatest chess players. He disappeared for two decades after defeating Russian player Spassky: a match that violated US sanctions at the time and caused Fischer to flee to Iceland. He resurfaced 20 years later and in 1992 defeated Spassky again in a rematch that won him $3.5 million. In 2005 he was captured at a Japan airport and was held for nine months before Iceland accepted him as a resident as he renounced his US citizenship. He showed great interest to his friends in Iceland that he wished to play a final tournament before he died, which he was unable to do before he passed away from kidney failure in Iceland on Thursday. He was 64.

2007 Photo a Day

2007 is over and so is my photo a day challenge with my friend Aaron. I made a good go at it, but it did get tougher and tougher as the year went by. Out of the 365 days in the year I took a photo a day 332 of those days. The challenge was to take a photo of yourself every 24 hours and there must be a unique object touching your head or neck in the photo. We uploaded our photos onto the popular photo hosting site Flickr and I'm going to share the top five most viewed photos by Flickr memebers from both of us. If you would like to check out the entire set visit our Flickr page here.
